Exercise
It is always recommended to avoid physical inactivity; no matter how you exercise it is true that any kind of exercise is better than none, and any amount of physical activity gain some health benefits.
Health professionals are keen to encourage patients to exercise regularly, at least 150 minutes a week of moderate-intensity (i.e. walking, swimming, or cycling), or 75 minutes a week of vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity (i.e. jogging, singles tennis, swimming continuous laps, or cycling uphill), or an equivalent combination of moderate- and vigorous-intensity aerobic activity. Aerobic activity should be performed in episodes of at least 10 minutes, and preferably, it should be spread throughout the week.

Diet & Nutrition
A healthy diet is one of the pillars to maintain a good health status. Doctors encourage patients to follow a balanced and varied diet, with all kind of food and a total amount of calories according to the patient’s nutritional status (BMI) and his/her daily physical activity.
In a balanced diet the majority of food that is taken daily belong to the group of Bread, Cereal, Rice & Pasta (about 11 servings/day) followed by the groups of Vegetables (3-5 servings) and Fruit (2-4 servings). The next group that must be included in the diet but in smaller quantity is the Milk, Yogurt and Cheese group with a total of 2-3 servings. Meat, Poultry, Fish, Dry Beans, Eggs & Nuts group must also have 2-3 servings. And last, but not least, must be included Fats, Oils & Sweets whom should be used sparingly and sometimes are naturally added to the previous mentioned groups.

Smoking
Smoking habit is a potential risk factor associated with respiratory, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal diseases; it can produce harmful physical effects such as accelerated heart rate, increased blood pressure, and weight loss, among others such as tolerance, dependence and irritability. Every smoker patient is always encouraged to abandon the habit due to the beneficial results that are provided by smoking cessation.
